Editing Deployed Flows
After a flow is created, you can edit it from the dashboard without rebuilding it from scratch.
Opening the Editor
Click any flow on the dashboard to open its detail page. From here you can:
- Change phone numbers and forward-to numbers
- Replace audio prompts (TTS, AI Voice, uploaded files, or URLs)
- Adjust ring timeouts
Making Changes
When you change something, a yellow Save Changes bar appears at the bottom of the page. Your changes aren’t applied until you click Save.
Editing Audio
Audio editing has built-in safety features for live flows:
- Currently Deployed — Always visible, showing the audio that’s live right now. This never changes until you save.
- Staged Replacement — Appears after you create new audio, showing the proposed replacement side-by-side with the current audio so you can compare.
This lets you preview exactly what will change before committing.
Saving to a Live Flow
If the flow is published (actively receiving calls), you’ll see a confirmation warning before saving:
“This flow is published and receiving live calls. Saving will update the draft. You’ll need to re-publish for changes to go live.”
This two-step process (save → re-publish) prevents accidental changes to production flows. After saving, you can re-publish from the same page.
Safety Features
The app includes several safeguards to protect live flows:
| Feature | What it does |
|---|---|
| No unpublish button | You can publish flows but can’t unpublish them from the app |
| Delete confirmation | Deleting a published flow requires typing the flow name |
| Save confirmation | Editing a published flow shows a warning before saving |
| Side-by-side audio comparison | See current vs. proposed audio before committing |
What You Can’t Edit
Some settings can’t be changed after creation — like the template type or the overall flow structure. To change these, create a new flow with the desired settings, assign the same phone number, and delete the old flow.
